She appeared, most of the time, to be an altogether normal girl. You’d never have guessed just looking at her that she was in fact a telepathic Time Lady who also happened to be a witch, a Jedi, a superhero, a friend of the ABC, and a member of the Browncoat Rebellion who has had such friends throughout space and time as The Beatles, Oscar Wilde, and the Phantom of the Opera. She spends her free time traveling either in her own TARDIS or in that of the Doctor’s thirteenth incarnation, to whom she is not-so-secretly married and together they regularly went on holiday in a small desert community called Night Vale. Her favorite hobbies include saving the universe, raising rare and exotic cats, and attending every concert Andrew McMahon has or will ever perform.
Okay if you really want the boring “true” story instead of the interesting one…
She was born somewhere in Massachusetts in the Northeastern United States about 21 years ago. She came into this world with absurdly curly hair and too many words in her brain. Nothing too worthy of discussion occurred in her childhood. Heading, rather reluctantly, off to college to pursue a degree in English (with a minor in Theater), she discovered that there are plenty of interesting people in the wide world if you know how to seek them out. She became a prouder nerd than ever and discovered a plethora of new friends through the subculture of Geekdom and its various fandoms.
Tori proudly, enthusiastically, and more than a little bit disbelievingly “runs” a Doctor Who fanclub based in the Boston area that boasts over 800 members and counting.
Currently, she is about to enter her fourth (and final) year of college. She’s still struggling to come to terms with that, really, but it’s exciting all the same. She’ll be officially living in her own apartment with her best friend and cooking and paying rent and other adult things of that nature.
Her personal life is, relatively speaking, fairly boring. She has struggled with severe anxiety for the majority of her life and, in the last year, has been forced to come to terms with it and start actively working on bettering herself. Occasionally, she will blog about mental illness-related things, always being sure to appropriately tag it for triggery reasons. Among other things, some of her increased anxiety as of late has stemmed from the fact that, at the very belated age of 20, she came out as queer to herself and her friends. The label she is using, currently, is pansexual…though, truth be told, she’d just as soon call herself queer and leave it at that. She’s not currently in a relationship.
But has lots of really attractive friends.
In her free time Tori is generally thinking, talking, reading, writing (or trying to force herself to write), making cosplays, watching British television and movies she’s already seen several times, hoarding music (especially obscure recordings of her favorite musicals), doing mostly useless things, and trying to figure out how best to become famous enough that she no longer has to buy her own convention badges.
Obviously, she also blogs a lot.
THIS IS A MULTI-FANDOM BLOG and there is usually little to no rhyme or reason to what will be posted when. You have been warned…?
